In honor of the recent passing of one of the all time greats, a translation of one of her all time greats: “Chuva de Prata” (“Silver Rain”) appeared on Gal Costa’s 1984 album “Profana” (“Profane”). We will remember the song.

Listen to the song

Silver Rain
If there is moonlight in the sky
Remove your veil and make it rain on our love

Silver rain that falls nonstop
Almost kills me from so much waiting
A kiss wet with light
Seals our love

A little honey is enough for sweetness
Let your veil fall on us
Oh, a beautiful moon in the sky
Wets our love

Every time that love says “come with me"
Go without fear of regret
You should believe in what is beautiful
Go for it!
That’s living!

Stick your face to mine, come dance
Drop your name in the tar to stay
While you forget me
Remember the song
