Duda Beat, born Eduarda Bittencourt Simões on October 8, 1987, released her first album, “Sinto Muito” (“I’m really sorry”), in 2018. This song is from that album, which Brazilian Rolling Stone named one of the top ten releases of that year. “Bixinho” is a creative spelling of “Bichinho,” which means “pet” but can also be “(little) animal” or “(little) bug” or even “(little) critter.” Because of the diminutive, it definitely has an affectionate aspect to it.
“Critter”
Hey, critter
I know you from another life
My feelings are split
One piece is for you
I’m satisfied
With having you nice and slow
Making love deliciously
Just for us to have fun
I’ve never felt detached from anybody
With you I tried
I couldn’t stand it
Hey, my love
With that accent you make me crazy
Smell my hair, squeeze my thigh
With that kiss you drive me insane
And so what?
Just one more time won’t make a difference
One more time won’t make a difference
One more time won’t make a difference
And since we’re already here
Let’s take advantage
Of the time we have left
To cling to each other
Pull*
I really like it when you pull me
Smell my hair and squeeze my thigh
Cuz with that kiss you make me crazy
And so what?
Our love is when you pull me
I really like it when you pull me
Just one more time won’t make a difference
I’ve never felt detached from anybody
With you I tried
I couldn’t stand it
*The word in Portuguese here is puxa, which indeed means “pull” as in the next line. But as a standalone word it also means wow or gee.
