Feliz Natal! Merry Christmas!

This song was released as a single by the real estate company Clineu Rocha in 1967. The B side contained commercial jingles for the company, which was a big deal in São Paulo real estate in the 60s and 70s, but went out of business in 1977. (It is worth remembering that Christmas is in the middle of the summer in Brazil.)

Listen to the song.

Tão Bom” (“So Good”)
So good
So good
So good
So good
Christmas was so good
Oh what I wouldn’t give for the whole year to be like that

Look at the city, how beautiful
It even seems deserted
The kids sleeping
With their windows open

Santa Claus completes all the collections
Doll, bike, ball, candy, and balloon

For those who don’t have their treasure
Life is just hope
And nothing is worth more gold than still being a child
Those who don’t live for love will not always live like that
Santa Claus plants flowers where there is no garden

Santa Claus comes back alone
Santa Claus comes back on foot
Santa Claus without his sleigh
To houses without chimneys

At home alone without children
He’ll read the paper

How good
So good
So good
So good
Christmas was so good
