This is the second track from Seu Jorge’s 2007 album “América Brasil: O disco” (“America Brazil: The record”). The title “Trabalhador” (“Worker”) speaks for itself.
“Worker”
They’re in the fight, in the runaround, in the day-to-day
Sack lunch is cold but they have to go work
This routine at every company starts at seven sharp
Boss complains and fires whoever’s late
Worker
Brazilian worker
Dentist, gas station attendant, police officer, firefighter
Brazilian worker
There are street cleaners out there who are trained engineers
Brazilian worker
Worker
And without money they will find a way
Go to work
It’s a commitment, there’ll be problems if they’re absent
Salary is small, it doesn’t do anything
Unemployment also doesn’t work
And this way life continues without improving
Worker
Brazilian worker
Waiter, waitress, paralegal, bricklayer
Brazilian worker
Works like a donkey and doesn’t earn money
Brazilian worker
Worker
