Today’s post is linked to yesterday’s, both being released by the same artist at the same time and both being the subject of the most recent bonus episode of Brazuca Sounds. The songs have strong musical connections (thus the simultaneous coverage by Brazuca Sounds) but they are quite distinct in terms of the content of their lyrics. Although this song does share Di Melo’s penchant for wordplay, the strong political critique is an abrupt change from the partying tone of “Kilário.”
“Se o mundo acabasse em mel”
Entrou em choque publicitário
Foi forte a queda do seu império
É golpe duro pra milionário
Com honorários tornar-se servo
Deu pane no nervo do cérebro
Taquicardia e reverbério
Momentos trágicos, instantes sórdidos
Tombou perplexo em pleno orbe
Ah, ele que dizia que queria morrer doce
Quando o mundo acabasse em mel
Mel
Ah, ele que dizia que queria morrer doce
Quando o mundo acabasse em mel
Mel, mel, mel, mel
“If the world ended in honey”
He went into publicity shock
The fall of his empire was precipitous
It’s a hard blow for a millionaire
To become a serf working for fees
There was a glitch in a nerve in the brain
Tachycardia and reverberation
Tragic times, sordid moments
He toppled perplexed in the middle of the world
Ah, he who said he wanted to die sweetly
When the world ended in honey
Honey
Ah, he who said he wanted to die sweetly
When the world ended in honey
Honey, honey, honey, honey
