(A post on Cazuza earlier this month introduced him.) “Exagerado” literally means “exaggerated” but more commonly it is used to describe people who are excessive, over the top, too much, overly dramatic, or in a more recent coinage “extra.”
“Extra”
Love of my life
From here to eternity
Our destinies
Were plotted in the maternity ward
Cruel, unbridled passion
I bring you a thousand stolen roses
To forgive my lies
My missteps
Drama queen
Thrown at your feet
I really am over the top
I love an invented love
I’m never going to breathe again
If you don’t notice me
I could even die of hunger
If you don’t love me
And for you I’ll leave everything
I’ll beg, steal, kill
Even in the most banal things
For me it’s everything or never again
Drama king
Thrown at your feet
I really am excessive
I love an invented love
And for you I’d leave everything
Career, money, diploma
Even in the most banal things
For me it’s everything or never again
Thrown at your feet
With a thousand stolen roses
Over the top
I love an invented love
