Saturday is feijoada day! From “São Paulo City” (spcity.com.br and @projeto_spcity), which bills itself as “Um projeto que tem a cara de São Paulo!” (“A project that looks like São Paulo!” but also “A project with that guy from São Paulo!”), comes a promo piece from 2016 entitled “Feijão Brasil, feijoada e outros pratos tradicionais nos Jardins!” (“Feijão Brasil” is the name of a restaurant that translates as “Beans Brazil” and “Jardins” is a neighborhood in São Paulo that means “Gardens”; the full title is “Feijão Brasil, feijoada, and other traditional dishes in Jardins!”)

What would become of São Paulo residents without their traditional feijoada? Whether on Wednesday or on Saturday, this tip is for those who like the dish and want to try the contrast of a homey atmosphere, but right there in the middle of all the activity of Avenida Paulista.

Feijão Brasil is a buffet with a good cost-benefit for the Jardins region, given that you can eat all you want for a set price, even from the dessert table. Recommendations, besides the feijoada, include the rice cakes and the typical Brazilian cuisine dishes, which vary depending on the day of the week. It’s also important to highlight that the feijoada is served with the ingredients separated, to please all palates.

On Monday, the highlight is the beef roll; on Tuesday there’s pumpkin purée with shredded dried beef; and on Thursday it’s roast pork, pirão, and fried polenta. While on Friday, the attraction belongs to the cod, the ribs, and the escondidinho.

Have you noticed that there are no bad days there?!
