“Uma canção” (João Menezes & Paulo Novaes, 2026)
Today I’m rounding out a short run of translations of music that is so new that there is very little on the internet about it. This song comes from the 2026 album “Coisa Híbrida” (“Hybrid Thing”) which is a collaboration between João Menezes and Paulo Novaes. Menezes, mostly known as a composer, is from the state of Alagoas in the Brazilian northeast and Novaes, who has won a Latin Grammy, is from São Paulo in the southeast. They have described this album as an overlaying of two universes without effort.
