World Portuguese Language Day
“My homeland is the Portuguese language” (Fernando Pessoa/Bernardo Soares)
The Portuguese language is not only one of the most widespread languages in the world, with more than 265 million speakers* spread over all the continents, but it is also the most common language spoken in the southern hemisphere. Today, Portuguese continues to be one of the primary languages of international communication, and it is a language with a strong geographic spread, destined to increase.
