100 best Brazilian songs? (Top 20)
Feliz Dia da República! 136 years ago today, a military coup in Brazil ended the monarchy and established a republic. In honor of that event and in celebration of both Brazilian music and my own translation blog, below is the final piece of the Globo list of the 100 (top? best? most important?) songs over the last 100 years (see part one, part two, part three, and part four for even more links). I believe this last group of 20 includes more links to songs and artists than any of the other pieces. And I’m pleased to say that you can now listen to the songs I’ve translated on the brand-new Anvil playlist on Spotify. Enjoy!
